Gazebo Review: The 3m x 6m Gala Shade Pro 60
If you visit any gazebo specialist’s online store, you’ll find some very similar-looking models across the range; the entry level 30mm or 32mm frame, the 40mm aluminium frame, and the 50mm aluminium frame. To the untrained eye they’re all much of a muchness. Similar price points, similar claims, all very much trying to follow the trailblazing lead of Gala Tent, the UK’s largest retailer of commercial quality pop-up gazebos. On closer inspection, there are subtle differences that mean you should also take a closer inspection yourself to see where costs are cut and quality isn’t quite to the level of the market leader.
However, one tent which stands apart from all of them is the relatively new Gala Shade Pro 60. This is the UK’s only gazebo that comes complete with 60mm wide aluminium legs. The framework of the Pro 60 stands a good 20% wider, of course stronger than any other gazebo to buy in the UK.
This is a monster of a gazebo that was originally built for the rough and tumble of the motorsport industry, but has been adopted by traders and businesses across countless industries, including pubs and hospitality, valeting and detailing, and market trading. It’s unrivalled in so many ways, that it’s difficult not to be impressed with what Gala Tent have done here.

A Closer Look at the Pro 60 Gazebo
The Pro 60 gazebo is one which has been manufactured using incredibly strong aluminium in the framework. The structure is an imposing beast, no matter which size you choose, but here we’re looking at the 3m x 6m, which is the smallest of the two models currently available to buy (the other is the 4m x 8m), although we understand there may be plans to introduce smaller sizes, and will confirm when we know.
Generally, a good pop-up gazebo should have either robust nylon joints (in the lower priced models) or profile aluminium (in the stronger models) - the Pro 60 goes one better and delivers double-reinforced connectors and sliders – they need to be this strong to manage the sheer brute strength of the Pro 60 gazebo.

It’s undeniably a tent that’s been built for regular-constant use. It’s such a heavyweight, weighing in at a massive 80kg, which means it’s not quite the transportable angel that a model such as the Pro DX or the Pro Compact might be, but the weight is a comforting reminder of the technology that’s gone into crafting such a goliath. The 5-year warranty provides peace of mind of the confidence that Gala Tent has in the strength of its product. As with any other gazebo in the range, it uses high-quality canopy material in its construction. 600d PVC-coated polyester that boasts remarkable water-resistance.
Because of the heavyweight nature of the framework, it will take a bit longer to erect, and we would recommend a minimum of 2 people to get the work done, but once it’s up, you’ll see why we’re so pleased with this tent. It might be overkill for an occasional garden party, but for a regular business user, it’s the best you can get.
The Pro 60 Gazebo Review
To provide a comprehensive assessment of the Pro 60 Gazebo, we have evaluated it across five crucial criteria: wind resistance, ease of setting up, weight, strength, and overall performance.
Wind Resistance: *****
With the thick materials combined with the innovative peak-pole springs in the roof, if you anchor this well it will withstand winds of more than 35mph. We recommend water-filled bags which offer 50kg of anchorage – use at least one per leg to keep the tent in place.
Ease of Setting Up: ***
This is not a one-click-and-go gazebo. It’s heavy duty, and will need at least 2 people to put it up. Be sure to follow our guide to putting a gazebo up if you need help.
Weight: *****
This is the biggest, heaviest gazebo to buy from Gala Tent, so expect it to be very heavy. The good thing about this tent is that it comes with a transport bag as standard, so you can wheel it from A to B once it’s out of the vehicle but do be careful not to drop it on your toes.
Strength: *****
You will not find a stronger gazebo on the UK market. This is a seriously strong unit.
Overall Rating: *****
It’s not the cheapest on the market, but it is absolutely the best that your money can buy. We can’t wait to see if Gala Tent does launch the smaller sizes, they will change the professional gazebo game if they do.
Conclusion
The Pro 60 gazebo is the biggest and strongest gazebo that your money can invest in, particularly if you need something big enough to covr plenty of people, stock, or vehicles. It’s perfect for regular use but do ensure you’re adhering to health and safety and erecting it with at least 2 people.
